A Bit About Us
From humble beginnings in 1979 to the same small-town family owned business in 2020 and beyond.
Founder, George Holmes started the Custom Picture Framing shop in 1979 on a ranch in Newbury Park. His neighbors found out that he did custom picture framing and they would bring the artwork to his house. His first store-front shop opened on Erringer Road. He purchased Nora's Art Gallery located on Valley Fair and soon closed the shop on Erringer and moved the inventory to the new location at 2256 Tapo Street from January 1997- February 2005. His journey took him to our current location at 2387 Tapo Street. George is retiring in late 2020 and James Gorman will be taking over operation of the shop.
James and his family have lived in the Simi Valley community for over 20 years. He retired from 30+ years as a Visual Effects artist for the movie industry. James has been working with George to carry on the Top Quality work expected from all his valued customers past and present.
In addition to high-quality custom picture framing, James will be offering a new service to the shop. His Emmy Winning skills in digitally retouching and repairing of damaged photographs will be available to our customers.
